William (Bill) Eames, 74, was born on January 15th, 1938 in Oroville, California to Vernon and Georgia (Gant) Eames. He passed away on April 24th, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Louanna Eames in 1996.
A hard worker all of his life, Bill worked in rice fields as a teenager and later as a service station attendant. He spent 24 years as a carpet layer and then worked construction building houses and cutting out numbers and signs for complexes. He also did landscaping, read water meters for the Toyon Water district and worked 13 years for the Calaveras Unified School District until 2000 when he retired. However, he couldn't completely retire so he continued to do landscaping and reading water meters until Bill and his family moved to Missouri in 2008.
Among the hobbies and activities that Bill loved to do were, panning for gold, searching for rocks and gem stones (which he cut, polished and displayed), making jewelry and belt buckles out of raw materials. Bill also liked to plant and grow flowers. And he loved to fish whenever possible. Bill was a good and gentle man yet possessed a steely resolve to do what was right. He was willing to help anyone and everyone that was in need. As an example he became a foster parent for those who needed parents.
Bill is survived by his wife Goldia Eames of the home; two daughters, Deana Carroll of Springfield, Mo, Tammy Parker of San Andreas, CA; one step son, Danny Young II of San Andreas, CA, and one step daughter, Gina Riboni of El Dorado Springs, MO; as well as 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Benjamin Ank of Oroville, CA, Loren Lopaz of Palermo, CA, Randy Lopaz of Palermo, CA, and Hoit Lopaz; and three sisters, Opal Massey of Dunkirk, IN, Linda Lester of Yakima, WA, and Darlene Standard of Sparks, NV.
