Marjorie A. Blackburn, age 77, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away June 1, 2012, at her home in rural Vernon County. Marjorie was born February 4, 1935, at Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Irene Davis. Marjorie attended East High in Des Moines.
Marjorie married Buster Buddy Blackburn on October 31, 1953. Marjorie worked as a clerk at Western Auto for fifteen years. She was an active supporter of Breast Cancer awareness. She enjoyed knitting, drawing, designing, cooking, gardening, camping and fishing.
Marjorie was a sweet, loving, caring, giving, honest and generous woman. She enjoyed her life and her family. She was proud of her children’s accomplishments.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Mary Boatright; and one brother, Bob Davis.
Survivors include: her husband, Buster Buddy Blackburn of the home; one son, Bruce Blackburn and wife Sharon of El Dorado Springs; one daughter, Karen Carr and husband George of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Bethany, Alicia, Dan, Steven, Wade, Jeff, Jason and his wife Bekki; two great grandchildren Makensie and Austin; one sister-in-law, Jewell Davis; one brother-in-law, Walter Boatwright; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Marjorie Blackburn were held at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. Pastor David Rorabaugh officiated. Final disposition was cremation under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
