Dorothy Lea Alexander, age 93, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Appleton City Manor.
Dorothy was born April 7, 1920, in Springfield, Missouri, to Walter and Sara Ann (Underhill) Arnn. For many years Dorothy worked in the ammunition plant in Independence, Missouri.
Dorothy was a lady who enjoyed life. The family remembers her as one who always had a joke or a funny story to tell—giggling and laughing. She who often include funny sayings in the cards she would send for birthdays and Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Keller. In 1971, she married Marcellis Alexander. They retired to El Dorado Springs in 1979. Marcellis also preceded her in death in 2006.
Dorothy is survived by one sister, Flossie Day, of California; a sister-in-law, Betty Davis of Buckner, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Dorothy Alexander will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Buckner Cemetery in Buckner, Missouri. Rev. Randall Bland officiated. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
