Obituary
Patricia Fahe (Wood) McCowan, age 79, passed away in her home on Sunday, October 26, 2014. She was born December 18, 1934, to George Terry and Jewel Fern (McCullick) Wood six miles east of El Dorado Springs in the Coal Hill area, and remained there most of her life.

On Easter Sunday in 1945, Patty was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now the Community of Christ, by Elder Freddie Blystone in a little creek on the Bob Johnston farm. She married the love of her life, James Lynn McCowan, on August 28, 1953. They were married by Elder Freddie Blystone.

During her high school years, Patty worked for the Hacket’s at the Family Shoe Store after school and on Saturdays. After graduating with the El Dorado High School Class of ’52, on June 23, 1952, she went to work for the International Shoe Company and stayed until the factory closed on November 30, 1984. On April 15, 1985, she went to work for Nevada City Hospital and retired on July 30, 2000. After retirement she began working in March 2002 for the Star and Buyer’s Guide, where she was still working.

Lynn and Patty had two children; a daughter, Linda Faye, and a son, Russell Wayne. They were blessed with both grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patty made it through several surgeries and illnesses, but could never recover from the loss of Lynn after forty-three years of marriage.

Patty made Sunday dinners the best in her home. She was known for being a wonderful cook, especially for her fried chicken, just ask her grandkids. Family meant everything to her. She was a doer and a giver. Whatever the need was, she tried her best. Her life could be summed up with, “She gave her all.”

Preceding Patty in death were her husband, James Lynn McCowan; her parents: George and Fern Wood; her parents-in-law: “Beefy” and Beulah McCowan; a sister-in-law, Ruby West; and a brother-in-law, Verl Ray McCowan.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Perrodin and husband, Ken; a son, Russ McCowan and wife, DeAnna; six grandchildren: Kaolin Perrodin and wife, Korissa, Kameron Perrodin and wife, Amy, Kendall Perrodin and wife, Jen, Rachael (McCowan) Daulton and husband, Adam, Trenton McCowan and Ashley Thompson, and Kirtis McCowan and wife, Emily; ten great-grandchildren: Logan Perrodin, KaLynn Perrodin, Kaitlynn Perrodin, Kaiden Perrodin, Lyvia Perrodin, Kalice Perrodin, Lacyn Perrodin, Tristyn Daulton, Knox Perrodin, and Reagan Daulton; a sister, Betty Fugate and husband, Don; a sister-in-law, Ruby McCowan; two brothers-in-law: Forrest McCowan and wife, Thelma, and Roy McCowan, who lived with them for a while; a very special niece who always tried to help with the medical questions, Juanita (McCowan) Chrisman and husband, Steve; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She was blessed to have two RNs, Juanita and Korissa, in her family.
