Obituary
Ronald Jack Brown, age 84, of Lee’s Summit MO, passed away in the arms of his Savior on May 28, 2015 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, Raytown, MO.

Jack was born on November 1, 1930, in El Dorado Springs, MO. He was the son of Claude S. Brown and Edith Brown Rowland. He graduated from High School in Oklahoma City. Jack served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1954 as a Gunners Mate on USS Naifeh (DE-352). He married Alma Dean Smith on January 17, 1955. They had two children, Ronald L. Brown and Rhonda D. (Brown) Mathews.

As a career salesman he loved talking and making connections with people. It was often said that Jack could sell a refrigerator to an Alaskan Eskimo. When living at Lake Lotawana, he volunteered for the Lake Lotawana Fire and Rescue Unit (1969 to 1977). Jack also served as councilman for four years. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, and spend time visiting with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Louis Lee Brown and Claude Kenneth Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Brown of Lee’s Summit, MO; son, Ron and daughter-in-law, Joan Brown of Lake Lotawana, MO; daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Brad Mathews of Greenwood, MO; grandchildren, Annie (Mathews) and Ryan Nierman, Clint Mathews, and Sarah Mathews, all of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Barbara Brown of Conroe, TX; sister, Linda Bound of Blue Springs, MO; and three nieces and two nephews. Jack is also survived by his beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Sugar.

Services were held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bland Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, MO, with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Burial followed at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, Mo. under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Clint Mathews, Ryan Nierman, Darrell Eason, Steve Eason, Curtis Eason, and Jerry McCormick.

Family welcomes all to a memorial for Jack at 4:00 pm, June 4th at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, 11900 Jessica Lane, Raytown, MO.
