Ruby Coleen Boswell, age 69, of rural El Dorado Springs, passed away at Cedar County Memorial Hospital, Thursday afternoon on January 7, 2016. Coleen was born February 5, 1946, in California, the daughter of Robert Odell Bishop and Virginia Lee Stout. Coleen completed her high school education in California.
Coleen met Roy Douglas Boswell while he was in the Marine Corps. They married on November 1, 1963, in Ontario, California. While living in California they had three sons. They then moved to Verden, Oklahoma, and had a daughter.
Coleen did a vast array of jobs that include: farming, custom hay hauling, bus driver for the Verden public schools, worked at a local convenience store, Braums Dairy, and Maramont Manufacturing, all while raising four children.
Coleen was a very strong willed, honest, hardworking person. Coleen found a lot of joy and comfort by having her home filled with the laughter and fellowship of family and friends.
Preceding Coleen in death were both her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her husband Roy Douglas Boswell of El Dorado Springs, MO; two brothers: Matt Bishop of El Dorado Springs, MO, and Mike Bishop of Louisiana; one sister Francis Bishop of Harrison, AR; four children: Steven Boswell and wife Mary of El Dorado Springs, MO, Doug Boswell and wife Teresa of Springfield, MO, Franklin Boswell and wife Janice of Weatherford, OK, and Pamela Lovelace and husband Craig of Anadarko, OK; thirteen grandchildren: Woody Kinney and family, Tana Boswell, Denise Boswell and family, D.J. Valdez and family, Ashley Chism and family, Micah Mize and family, Daniel Boswell and family, Rick LaCosse and family, DJ Boswell, Tyrel Lovelace, Kayla Boswell, Levi Lovelace, and Brittanny Lovelace; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Ruby Coleen Boswell were held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs, MO with Rev. Richie Matlock officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Richie Matlock and Regina Rogers. Coleen Boswell was laid to rest at Freeman-Holsapple Cemetery near Collins, MO, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Steven Boswell, Douglas Boswell, Franklin Boswell, Craig Lovelace, Joe Barger, and Frank Lambrecht. Honorary pallbearers were: Daniel Boswell, D.J. Boswell, Tyrel Lovelace, Levi Lovelace, D.J. Valdez, Allen Kinney and Rick LaCosse.
