Carmen Anthony Loomis, age 71, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away August 6, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago, Il, on July 19, 1946, to Russell and Anna Mae (Napolitano) Loomis.
Carmen worked in the horse industry from a young age, breaking and training horses. In 1966, he opened his own boarding stable, Rimfire Ranch, outside Crestwood, Il. He married his wife, Linda, in 1969 on his mother’s birthday, because it meant he wouldn’t forget their anniversary. He went to work at Rheem Mfg. in 1969, shortly before his marriage and continued for 21˝ years until the plant closed in 1990. He was a heavy duty maintenance mechanic. He and his wife moved to El Dorado Springs in 1991.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Russell and Anna Mae Loomis, and his brother, Sam.
Survivors include his wife Linda of the home; two sons, Robert Loomis and James (Jodi) Loomis; two brothers, Russell (Shirley) Loomis and Harry Loomis; and three grandchildren: Jadelyn, David and Aiden.
Carmen will be missed by his family.
